Dypsis lantzeana |
Dypsis lantzeana This species is a good grower in the subtropics, it also has a few different leaf forms the new leaf can be bright red and is another stunning small palm that is a clumping dypsis, the stems of this species look like they have been painted and are very spectacular, it’s quite an easy species to grow but does take some time before it forms a lovely thick clump. This species is very simular to Dypsis Forficifolia and can be very hard to tell these two species apart with out looking at the inflorescence. This species grows well in the subtropics and would also make a great landscaping palm for indoor gardens or around water features it requires a shaded position in a frost free area and seems to handle most soil types but does best in well drained rich soils, watered 2 or 3 times a week with a nice thick mulch to help hold the moisture in the ground. This species will grow to just over 3m tall but takes over 12 to 15 years to attain this height. We have a limited amount of these available now!! |
